About the Event

Mindfields Automation Summit featured presentations and panel discussions with senior leaders in the automation space from top Australian organisations including ANZ Bank, Australia Post, Optus, Komatsu and Suncorp as well as the country’s most influential politician in this space.

The theme of the Summit was Staying ahead with Automation in the Digital Economy. The event focused on informing, entertaining and educating the community in a way that helped to expedite their digital transformation and automation journeys.

The sessions covered topics relevant to a wide range of industry verticals from banking to telecommunications, manufacturing, services and healthcare.

× Based in Western Sydney, Ed Husic was elected to the House of Representatives as the Federal Member for Chifley in 2010. He is the Shadow Minister for Human Services and the Digital Economy. Ed has engaged in Digital Economy issues as a member of the House of Representatives Infrastructure and Communications Standing Committee and as Deputy Chair of the Joint Select Committee on the National Broadband Network.
× Yann-Walter is a technology savvy finance and transformation professional with 20 years of diverse cross functional experience across the globe. He is currently the Program Director of Automation at ANZ Bank, Australia.
× Paul Smith is the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Editor at Australian Financial Review
× Craig is a business transformation and Automation leader with experience across multiple industries. Craig advocates for driving sustainable transformation by designing people and customer solutions and aligning with business strategies through process, data and technology re-engineering.
× Leanne (Lee) Ward is the CEO and Founder of Partners for the Future, a specialist company focused of creating sustainable change that has a positive impact on the current and future performance of companies and NFPs. Based in Sydney, and having travelled extensively, Lee has a substantial background in running very significant P&Ls and major transformation and change programs. She has led teams from small professional teams of 10 members through to 3000+ organisations. Annual P&Ls have exceeded US350M pa and her attention to customer satisfaction and retention is second to none.
× Rocky Scopelliti is a world-renowned futurologist. His pioneering research on the confluence of demographic change associated with Millennials and digital technology have influenced the way we think about our social, cultural, economic and technological future. As a media commentator, his unique insights have featured on SKY Business News, The Australian Financial Review, ABC Radio National, The Economist, Forbes and Bloomberg. As an international keynote speaker, his presentations have captivated audiences across Asia Pacific, the USA and Europe including Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. As a thought leader, over 150 boards and leadership teams, including Fortune 100 corporations, each year seek his advice on strategy. A distinguished author, his 12 published thought leadership research reports have become internationally recognised for their influence including the World Economic Forum’s Disruptive Innovation in Financial Services Program. In an executive capacity, he is a member of the Optus Business Leadership team as the Director Centre for Industry 4.0 where he leads the specialist team creating world class thought-leadership and innovation. In a non-executive capacity, he is director on the board of Community First Credit Union. Educated in Australia and trained in the USA at Sydney and Stanford Universities respectively, he has a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Management and an MBA. He is also a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
× Foad Fadaghi is Telsyte’s managing director and principal analyst. He has over 20 years experience reporting and analysing the technology industry. Foad has been a key insights partner for leading Australian and multinational companies. He is a strong presenter and public speaker with his research often quoted in the media. His experience crosses over into journalism where he was the former technology editor for BRW magazine. Foad was formerly a Jupiter Research analyst and managing editor of Jupitermedia. Most recently Foad co-authored “Digital Nation”, a graphical book providing insights into technology adoption in Australia. Foad has a Bachelor of Commmerce from UNSW.
× Sukant heads the group wide Automation Program at Suncorp which includes RPA, RDA and Advanced Automation using AI. Sukant has 10+ years’ experience in managing large complex programs across platforms, operations, offshoring and advanced automation. In his work within the Business Partnering space (BPO, ITO, KPO) Sukant setup large offshore operations centres in India. Sukant is a firm believer in the Agile way of working, collaboration across geographies for delivery and the power of Automation and AI.
× Adam Jeffress is the Robotic Automation and Transformation Manager at Australia post, His team focuses on the development and ongoing support for RPA automations within the Finance function. Adam has over 13 years’ experience in Shared Services delivering quality process improvements through automation and process re-engineering.
× Robert has spent the past 15 years working in the insurance industry, of which the past six years have been with IAG. He is currently Executive Manager, Productivity within IAG, responsible for the implementation of Productivity solutions within the Australian Region. This includes introducing Robotics into IAG. He has held various roles within insurance including operations management, sales, and technology delivery. He has a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and spent his initial career in the petro-chemical industry before moving into Management Consulting and then Insurance. Robert is a passionate advocate for the creation of an environment that enables a sustainable lift in business productivity that will benefit both its staff and customer
× Adrian Iaiza is the Head of Process Automation Improvement at TAL. He has more than 15 years experience in Lean, Service Transformation, Project and Change Management and implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Adrian has a track record of delivering rapid change, leaving a lasting uplift on Customer experience, back office productivity, in manner that reduces risk.
× Mohit has over 20 years of experience working in Strategy, Corporate Finance, and Risk Management Solutions for Deloitte, PwC, and EY. Mohit has authored and published one of the first and most comprehensive research on Robotics and Process Automation. Mohit provides advisory services to leading global financial and non-financial organization in US, Australia, Middle East, UK, and India on their journey for Automation and Artificial Intelligence. Mohit loves cricket and food, in that order.  Mindfields has done more than 35 RPA live projects and have the most number of BOTs in live in production. Mindfields clients includes ANZ, Equifax, CIBC, Suncorp, ING, Rabo,Sensis to name a few.
